Artist Janet Echelman brings The Peninsula Hong Kong’s iconic façade to life with the installation of her new Earthtime 1.26 sculpture. Working with a team of highly skilled engineers, Echelman uses proprietary technology to harness the simplest of materials, like netting used by fishermen across cultures for millennia. As the atmosphere choreographs the sculpture’s movement, Echelman introduces a lighting system to highlight each subtle change. Her work seeks to make the invisible visible and remind the viewer of the interconnected networks of our physical and cultural world.
