Broadway In Chicago

Architecture River Cruise

As you travel through the birthplace of modern architecture, a specially trained guide describes the work of those who revolutionized the building arts, and how they are linked structurally and architecturally. Cruises begin in April. All tours depart from Riverside Gardens, Michigan Ave. and Wacker Dr. (Southeast corner of the Michigan Avenue Bridge).

Art Institute of Chicago

Tours of the home and studio designed and inhabited by famed American architect Frank Lloyd Wright show how his family, his house and his conception of architecture evolved in the 20 years that he lived in Chicago. Visitors can witness Wright's modern use of flowing space, how light was as important to his architecture as the design itself, and the moods that he could create with space, colour and materials.

Museum of Contemporary Art
One of the nation's largest modern art museums, the MCA features artworks created since 1945. Its permanent collection includes work by the likes of Franz Kline and Andy Warhol. It highlights the Surrealism of the 1940s and 50s, the Minimalism of the 1960s, conceptual art and photography from the 1960s to the present, and art by Chicago-based artists.
