With a shared passion and dedication to excellence, The Peninsula Hong Kong and The Macallan pay homage to heritage and craftsmanship with the limited-edition “The Reach”. The highly covetable masterpiece is housed in an exquisite glass decanter, which mouth-blown vessel is cradled by three sculptural bronze hands from Scottish artist Saskia Robinson. These represent the “many hands” whose combined efforts allowed for The Reach’s creation.

The Scottish Artisan – Saskia Robinson

Scottish sculptor Saskia Robinson created a bespoke sculpture of three hands to tell the story of The Macallan’s legacy, fusing the story and history with beguiling, human relevance in a three-dimensional record of the moment that is also timeless.

Graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in Sculpture in 2020, Saskia is passionate about sculpting the human form, plants and animals in clay. Much of Saskia's research is invested in Hellenistic sculpture as well as the art of the Italian Renaissance, Greek and Celtic mythology and the Scottish Enlightenment movement. Saskia has a special interest in sculpting within neoclassical tradition, primarily with figurative and portrait sculpture, statues and low reliefs in clay and plaster.

United by a dedication to mastery and craftsmanship in the pursuit of uncompromised excellence, the collaboration aims to bring Saskia’s unique artistry to this single malt whisky.
