A Party Guide to Poblacion

18/08/2023

Dance the night away in Makati’s the hippest neighborhood. Have the best weekend night out with live music, great company, and the perfect restaurants and bars in bustling Poblacion.

A Toda Madre
A long-running tequila bar and Mexican restaurant in the heart of Makati’s trendy Poblacion district, it specializes in authentic Guadalajara-style street tacos, burritos, chilaquiles, tamales, enchiladas, and more. The bar menu features more than 100 different types of tequila and mezcal and several types of margaritas – served by the glass, by the pitcher, or by the “flight.” The colorful cocktails are matched by a flamboyant interior festooned with funky murals.

Run, Rabbit, Run
A Poblacion bar awarded as the country's best in 2020. RRR, as it is famously called, prides itself in quality cocktails made with only the finest ingredients, sustainably produced with character, flair, and soul. What once was a house is now a home to customers who wish to escape the chaos and noise of everyday life and, instead, enjoy quality time over cocktails that only RRR can make.

Sanctuary
Poblacion’s rooftop nightlife destination. Celebrate with sunset drinks at the open-air terrace followed by a late-night party experience like no other. Be sure to arrive early to avoid the busy lines.

Polilya
Polilya started as the home of the local craft brewery Engkanto but not long after, its mixologists decided to throw in an extensive list of cocktails (some classic and others of their own making) and spirits. Aside from Engkanto beers on tap, the menu offers small bites that can be enjoyed in a cozy and tropical space that feels like your funkiest tita’s living room.

Japonesa
Japonesa is where you go for Japanese-Peruvian nosh when in the mood for the flavors and techniques of two diverse culinary traditions – Peru’s rich culinary heritage and Japan’s refined gastronomy.

OTO Bar
Considered one of Asia's 50 Best Bars since 2019, Oto takes its name from the Japanese word for ‘sound’. You'll find a killer all-vinyl playlist in action at this striking cocktail lounge where the drinks offering is extensive and varied. The menu is split into three sections: classics (think daiquiris and dirty martinis), signatures (such as the ‘Hey Brian!’), and modern classics with a twist (like the ‘Bacon Old Fashioned’ and the ‘Breakfast Martini’).
