Cultural luminaries join V&A and VOGUE100 at The Peninsula Hong Kong for an evening of innovative art celebration
On 24 March, The Peninsula hosted a magnificent gala event at its flagship Hong Kong hotel, during Hong Kong Art Week, to debut the 2025 iteration of its renowned global “Art in Resonance” programme. The Peninsula unveiled three specially commissioned artworks — including Lin Fanglu’s She’s Bestowed Love, curated by Dr Xiaoxin Li, the V&A’s curator of Chinese collections — highlighting innovation and cultural heritage. The evening was a celebration of the new partnership between The Peninsula Hotels and the UK’s Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum, featuring a the highly anticipated annual cocktail party followed by an exclusive dinner in partnership with Vogue100 and the V&A.
More than 500 guests gathered at The Peninsula Hong Kong for an evening of festivities, taking in the exhibition’s immersive and groundbreaking works from artists Chris Cheung (known as h0nh1m), Phoebe Hui, and Lin Fanglu, whose artwork will be displayed at the V&A South Kensington in Autumn 2025. Following the cocktail, guests dined at the hotel’s renowned Felix restaurant and were treated to a surprise performance by rising Royal Opera star Alexandra Lowe, who received a standing ovation for her performance
Benjamin Vuchot, the new Chief Executive Officer of The Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels, Limited, owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels welcomed esteemed guests including Dr Melissa Buron, Director of Collections & Chief Curator, V&A; Leslie Sun, Editorial Director of Vogue’s Asia-Pacific Region. The evening was attended by internationally renowned collectors, and art-world and cultural luminaries, including Alan Lo, Ankie Beilke, Anjaylia Chan, Ben Brown, Bettina Prentice, Cindy Chao, Daphne King-Yao, Ed Tang, Elly Lam, Emily Lam, Feiping Chang, Fumi Lee, Ian Malone, Ivan Pun, Jane Chao-Lee, Jasmine Contomichalos, Jay Jopling, Kimberly Drew, Levina Li, Marisa Yiu, Philip Sohmen, Princess Alia Al-Senussi, Prince Kieran Ashanti-Reilly of Ghana, Raline Shah, Sasha Pinto, and Tina Leung.
