The Lunar New Year is the most anticipated and joyful season on the Chinese calendar. This year, The Peninsula Hong Kong has curated an exceptional selection of celebratory dining, spa and stay experiences for guests to welcome the Year of The Ox in ultimate style.

An Auspicious Traditional Performance
On Friday, 12 February 2021, the first day of the New Year, guests from all over the world can immerse themselves virtually for the first-time via the hotel’s official social media channels and enjoy a spectacular lion dance performance on the hotel Helipad overlooking the iconic Hong Kong skyline and Victoria Harbour. Symbolising prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year, the lion dance is an indispensable ritual of the Lunar New Year, and the perfect way to kick-start the hotel’s festivities. 
The ground-breaking holiday experiences continue with a one-of-a-kind partnership between the hotel and LEGO to showcase a Life-like Ox Statue at The Verandah. Family guests can curate their own selfies with this magnificent artwork and share wishes of health and prosperity for the year ahead.

Festive Puddings and Hampers
Spring Festival dining at Spring Moon is a time-honoured family ritual. Once again, Spring Moon’s celebrated Lunar New Year puddings, hampers and delectable dim sum collection offer irresistible tastes of the season. Available in Taro, Water Chestnut, Turnip and Spring Moon flavours, the New Year Puddings are hand-crafted by Spring Moon’s Dim Sum Sous Chef Kanny Cheuk, and priced at HK$ 318 each. Brimming with superior delicacies, the Luxury Gourmet Hamper, priced at HK$ 3,688, is a cherished gift for relatives, friends and business associates – or simply to share at home with a loved one. The Peninsula Dining Fare
Auspicious seasonal dishes symbolise family reunion and prosperity. Throughout history, many delights have been an integral part of Lunar New Year dining culture. This year, The Peninsula Hong Kong will prepare Poon Choi (HK$ 1,988/ 2 persons; HK$ 3,888/ 4 persons), Lo Hei (HK$ 880), Steamed chicken with Yunnan ham, black mushroom and vegetables (HK $380); and Braised Chinese cabbage rolls with abalone, fish maw and king crab legs (HK $1,280) for guests to take home and share with family, while preparing for a prosperous year ahead. 

Guests may also opt for dining at Spring Moon to welcome the Year of the Ox, and feast over the Michelin-starred special set menus from 27 January to 26 February 2021. Featuring a refined array of traditional favourites, the “Fortune” menu for two diners is priced at HK$ 2,388*; while the “Wealth” menu is priced at HK$ 8,480* and the “Longevity” menu is priced at HK$ 10,680* for parties of six guests or more.
