The season of holiday merriment kicked off at The Peninsula Hong Kong in late November, where guests and visitors were treated to an evening of spectacular festivities and heart-warming traditions.

On Thursday, 21 November 2024, the legendary hotel launched its 2024 festive season celebrations with a spellbinding theatrical performance of “The Peninsula Express – Festive Extravaganza.” The show, featuring delightful storytelling and classic holiday music, allowed guests to embark on a magical journey aboard an enchanting fictional train, The Peninsula Express, to the fascinating destinations of Beijing and Shanghai. The concert culminated with a surprise appearance by Terence Lam and Leo Ku, and was followed by The Peninsula Hong Kong’s much-anticipated annual Tree Lighting Ceremony – in which the hotel's exquisitely decorated lobby Christmas tree was illuminated for the season with grand fanfare.

Concert guests then embarked on a culinary adventure through four of The Peninsula Hong Kong’s celebrated dining destinations – the alpine Swiss chalet-style Chesa, the evergreen Verandah, the Michelin-starred Spring Moon Cantonese restaurant, and the hotel’s authentic Japanese restaurant, Imasa – indulging in festive fare specially curated by the hotel’s culinary team.

The evening’s events were just the first in a series of celebratory offerings and experiences that the Grande Dame has planned for holiday guests this year. The hotel’s numerous festive activities and dining options, all designed to ensure memorable moments together during this special time of year, include the following.

Sumptuous Festive Feasts
Guests at The Peninsula Hong Kong can choose from a diverse array of culinary delights across its renowned restaurants. At the Michelin-starred Gaddi’s, diners can indulge in classic French preparations from Chef de Cuisine Anne-Sophie Nicolas. They can also opt to revel in seasonal flavours, specially curated by Chef de Cuisine Aurélie Altemaire, and creative cocktails with breathtaking harbour views at Felix; or savour refined Cantonese classics created by Chinese Cuisine Executive Chef Lam Yuk Ming at the Michelin-starred Spring Moon.

Other delightful dining options include Swiss holiday dishes at the Alpine chalet-style Chesa; elegantly traditional fare at The Lobby; and bountiful gourmet buffets at The Verandah, where an enchanting miniature railway delights families. Superb Japanese cuisine can also be enjoyed at Imasa, with Kaiseki and Osechi menus offering special wishes for the coming new year.

Journeys on The Peninsula Express
Once again this year, the first floor of The Peninsula Hong Kong has been transformed into Salisbury Station, where The Peninsula Express’s custom-built train carriage welcomes guests for a one-of-a-kind dining experience. With an exterior painted in signature Peninsula Green, and a luxurious interior with wood panelling, vintage light fixtures and beautifully set dining tables, the carriage pays homage to the golden age of railway travel. It also lets diners enjoy buffet lunch, afternoon tea, or buffet dinner with an authentic sense of being transported through dreamy Chinese landscapes inspired by Shanghai and Beijing.

Reservations may only be booked on a per table basis, with a minimum of four guests per table. Pre-payment is required within 24 hours upon receiving the online payment link to secure the reservation. Exclusive private and corporate bookings are available upon request.
