Among the many delightful events and activities holiday-season guests can enjoy together are the following:

Stories from the Tree
As per time-honored custom, each of the ten Peninsula hotels around the world will light a magnificently decorated Christmas tree in its grand lobby. The illuminated tree will set the stage for “Stories from the Tree,” a beloved series of tales created by The Peninsula Hotels especially for festive-season guests and their children. The tales' six lively characters, including the Nutcracker, Gingerbread Man, Robin, Reindeer, Santa, and Pageboy, will adorn each hotel's Christmas tree in the form of ornaments and other decorative displays. This year's story, the fourth and final tale in the series, features the Reindeer as the main character, who journeys around the world to see (and taste) different Christmas traditions.

Digital Storybook and Children's Storytelling
Each year since 2018, The Peninsula Hotels has created a specially written children's story highlighting a different “Stories from the Tree” character. This year's story, The Reindeer's Travels, will be released as an e-storybook for free download on peninsula.com, along with stories from the previous three years (The Nutcracker's Adventure, The Gingerbread Man's Tale, and The Robin's Journey). A printed box set of the complete collection will also be available for purchase, with US$10 from each sale going to the hotel's selected local charity organization. The Peninsula New York will host a festive storytelling event for guests and local residents, featuring a live reading of Stories from the Tree: The Reindeer's Travels by Mrs. Claus, followed by a reindeer gingerbread making event arranged by the culinary team on Sat, December 11.

Opportunities for Giving
To honor the spirit of generosity that accompanies the holidays, The Peninsula Hotels will continue its tradition of contributing to organizations that support children's welfare in each of its hotels' home cities. This year, The Peninsula New York has once again chosen The New York Center for Children (NYCC). NYCC is the only independent center in New York City to provide comprehensive evaluation and therapy services to child victims of physical and sexual abuse and their families, free of charge, for as long as their healing requires. Dedicated to serving children for 26 years, the center has served more than 15,000 children and their families in the surrounding areas. Along with a portion of proceeds from the "Stories from the Tree" box set, The Peninsula New York will donate US$5 from each sale of our pins featuring the Reindeer character. In addition, the hotel will donate US$5 from each sale of each Holiday Champagne Afternoon Tea reservation.

Join The Peninsula New York this Holiday Season
To kick off the holiday season in style, on Tuesday, November 30 The Peninsula New York invites you to a special Tree Lighting at Salon de Ning rooftop bar and terrace. Enjoy complimentary cocktails and light bites from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, along with a special performance by The National Children's Chorus, one of the world's leading children's choirs comprised of more than 700 students from across the country. Following the Tree Lighting, stay and sip on holiday drinks while taking in the lights of Fifth Avenue. Fifty percent of the night's proceeds will be donated to The New York Center for Children.

Visitors will also be able to stop by the lobby and visit The Peninsula Sweet Shoppe, where guests young and old can mix and match a bag of sweet treats with surprise visits from Pen Bear. Open daily from November 26 to December 31, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Children's Reindeer Holiday Tea + Gingerbread House Decorating Class
A holiday favorite for families! The hotel's Executive Pastry team leads children through decorating their very own gingerbread house. Adults also enjoy Festive Afternoon Tea and glass of Peninsula Champagne while observing the decorating activities.
