01/03/2021

The Peninsula Shanghai’s eighth annual Tour de Bund Charity Cycle Ride took place along the iconic Huangpu river pm 19 September, 2020 Saturday to help raise money for Make-A-Wish Shanghai Foundation. Over the course of eight years, the event has raised a total of RMB 500,000 with the help of over 2000 cyclists.

One of The Peninsula Shanghai’s signature events, the Tour de Bund Charity Cycle ride is an increasingly popular pedal power event that brings people together from all walks of life to promote the benefits of fitness and healthy living. The cycle ride also aims to increase the awareness of pollution-free travel and shows how businesses and local communities can work together to create a greener city.

This year, 100 riders joined the Tour de Bund with respect to social distancing measures. The riders joined each other at the starting point at a riverside location in Shanghai’s Pudong district, a mere 2 kilometers from the city’s iconic Lujiazui skyline.

Cyclists rode a total of 40 kilometres along the riverfront, passing by Shanghai’s skyscrapers and Huangpu river towards the south of the city and finishing the course at The Peninsula Shanghai.
