The Peninsula Academy

The Peninsula Tokyo offers hotel guests the opportunity to craft their own preserved flowers in a widely-known Ukiyo-E ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’ wooden box. In this Peninsula Academy program, guests will experience the creation of a truly unique and memorable preserved flower arrangement discovering the enduring allure of sustainable flowers.

Belles Fleurs Tokyo's CEO and flower designer Ryohei Konno will guide guests through an introduction to preserved flowers, explaining how each flower is transformed into an ever-lasting flower. The experience then moves on to laying out moss – essential to Japanese gardens – and flower materials that have thoughtfully been chosen by the designer, theming the wave-centric works. In a relaxed setting with the expert as a guide, this hands-on class promises fun creation for all ages above six. At the end of each class, guests will get to take home their masterpieces as a keepsake gift of the experience.
