The history of mooncakes at The Peninsula dates back to 1986 in Hong Kong, where Michelin-starred Spring Moon’s culinary team raised the bar on this storied confectionary, blending eastern tradition with western culinary techniques to create an utterly decadent treat. Since then, the mooncakes’ popularity and status has continued to rise.

Hei Fung Terrace Original Mini Egg Custard Mooncakes
This year, Hei Fung Terrace is delighted to once again bring back its legendary handcrafted Mini Egg Custard Mooncakes. These deliciously luxurious mooncakes are freshly baked using Hokkaido butter, salted duck egg yolk, and custard powder to produce the finest quality texture and flavor. Presented in an elegantly designed and multi-functional gift box, they are the perfect treat to share with friends, family, and loved ones. Hei Fung Terrace’s homemade Mini Egg Custard Mooncakes are available in boxes of four and eight.

The Peninsula Mini Egg Custard Mooncakes (imported from Hong Kong)

In addition to Hei Fung Terrace's original mooncakes, The Peninsula Mini Egg Custard Mooncakes imported directly from Hong Kong will also be available for purchase at The Peninsula Boutique & Café at level B1 of The Peninsula Tokyo as well as at The Peninsula Boutique & Café pop-up stores at Shin-Marunouchi Building, Isetan Shinjuku, and Matsuya Ginza. Individually wrapped for preservation, these mooncakes have a long shelf life and are thus ideal for shipping and delivery to loved ones and friends who may be celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival from a distance.


Also on offer is an exquisite collection of innovative mooncakes conceptualized by The Peninsula's Chinese Culinary Advisor Chef Tang Chi Keung. Made with traditional Chinese ingredients, the specially flavored mooncakes include Mini Lotus Seed Paste Mooncake with Yolk; Mini Chocolate Egg Custard Mooncakes; Mini Mandarin Peel Red Bean Paste Mooncake with Yolk; and Mini Mandarin Peel Azuki Red Bean Paste Mooncake with Pine Nuts.
