In a celebration of culinary artistry and cultural heritage, The Peninsula Tokyo is proud to unveil a special Four-Hands dining collaboration at its signature Cantonese restaurant, Hei Fung Terrace. For a limited time only, guests will have the rare opportunity to savor authentic Cantonese cuisine from a Michelin-starred Chinese chef—right here in Tokyo.

 

In an exclusive culinary partnership titled "From Shanghai to Tokyo: Yi Long Court Meets Hei Fung Terrace," we are delighted to welcome Chef Jacky Zhang of the acclaimed Yi Long Court at The Peninsula Shanghai, awarded One Michelin Star in the Michelin Guide Shanghai 2024.

 

Over a limited period, Chef Jacky Zhang will join forces with Chef de Cuisine Yusuke Komuro and the culinary team at Hei Fung Terrace to present a curated menu that blends time-honored Cantonese traditions with the refined artistry of modern Chinese gastronomy.

 

The à la carte selection will highlight signature dishes from both chefs and their respective restaurants, with particular emphasis on Chef Jacky’s renowned creations that earned Yi Long Court its Michelin star. The lunch and dinner course menus will feature a true four-hands collaboration, as both chefs come together to craft a cohesive dining experience rooted in traditional Cantonese cuisine—brought to life through exceptional technique and seasonal ingredients.

 

This exclusive partnership reflects The Peninsula Hotels’ deep-rooted Chinese heritage and longstanding reputation for delivering world-class Cantonese cuisine across its global destinations.

Since joining The Peninsula family in 2010, his refined techniques and dedication to seasonal freshness have earned Yi Long Court international acclaim.

 

Chef Zhang’s philosophy centers on freshness, purity, and seasonal balance—the hallmarks of Southern Chinese gastronomy. His dishes celebrate the natural flavors of premium ingredients, particularly seafood, and showcase a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. Through precise execution and a deep respect for Cantonese culinary heritage, Chef Zhang delivers elegant, contemporary interpretations that stay true to their roots while offering a fresh perspective.

 

About Chef Yusuke Komuro

With a deep-rooted passion for Cantonese cuisine, Chef Yusuke Komuro began his culinary journey in 2000, honing his craft in renowned Chinese restaurants and luxury hotels throughout Japan. In 2007, he joined the esteemed Chinaroom at Grand Hyatt Tokyo, where he further refined his culinary skills and expertise. He joined The Peninsula Tokyo in 2019 as Sous Chef of Hei Fung Terrace and was appointed Chef de Cuisine in May 2024.


At Hei Fung Terrace, Chef Komuro honours the rich traditions of Cantonese cuisine—an integral part of The Peninsula Hotels’ culinary philosophy—while thoughtfully incorporating seasonal ingredients sourced directly from trusted producers across Japan. His approach offers guests a dining experience that is both authentic in spirit and refined in execution.
