SummerStage is returning to live, in-person performances this summer! SummerStage is the best way to chill out to live music in New York's famous parks all summer long with some seriously impressive bands. This annual outdoor art and music festival is returning to Rumsey Playfield in Central Park, Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens, and The Coney Island Amphitheater with mostly free performancess.
2021's SummerStage festival focuses on the theme of rebirth and resilience and presents distinctly New York genres including hip-hop, Latin, indie rock, contemporary dance, jazz, and global music. 2021’s lineup kicks off with renowned artists and rising stars with an important ties to New York City, such as Patti Smith and Her Band, Sun Ra Arkestra, Tito Nieves, Armand Hammer & The Alchemist. New York-Centrist artists such as La India, Antibalas, Marc Rebillet and The Metropolitan Opera will be featured as part of the free in-person shows. Benefit concerts will require tickets and feature artists such as of Machine Gun Kelly, Lake Street Dive, Dawes, Chris Botti, Galactic, and Indigo Girls.
For an extra feel good glow, know that by snapping up tickets to SummerStage’s brill benefit concerts, you’ll be supporting 100 free performances in parks across the five boroughs. Beer and wine are sold at the venue for quaffing during concerts (but no BYO). Cheers to summer!
