Long known as a cherished “holiday home” for discerning travellers, The Peninsula Beijing will once again welcome guests this winter with a sumptuous calendar of festive experiences. This year’s festivities at The Peninsula Beijing will celebrate timeless holiday traditions while giving back to the community during the season of giving. We are thrilled to announce our 2024 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 28. This cherished annual tradition brings us together to honour another remarkable year, and celebrate the seasonal spirit of giving in partnership with Make-a-Wish Foundation. Guests will be greeted by festive décor in gold, white and green, plus a delightful Christmas cottage and trees. Michelin-starred cuisines will be served all evening paired with holiday-inspired cocktails. Live entertainment will enhance the merry atmosphere, including a carol choir, a blind singer and a performance by Santa and his elves. Guests can also enter a lucky draw to win holiday gifts, and look out for surprise appearances by celebrity guests.

Santa’s Holiday Home
According to legend, Santa Claus's hometown is a serene place where traditional wooden houses are seamlessly integrated with the spectacular surrounding nature. Santa and his helpers prepare gifts in a wintry wooden house to be delivered to children on Christmas Eve. Once he opens his front door, Santa is greeted by elves and forest animals who share Christmas blessings.

Taking inspiration from this mystical Christmas scene, The Peninsula Beijing recreates a trip to the festive forest with a sophisticated French twist. The hotel lobby is beautifully styled by decorations in gold, green, and white. Santa’s snowy Christmas house is embellished with pine and cypress branches and gold ribbons. Verdant Christmas trees are festooned with twinkling ornaments and colourfully wrapped gifts around the base. A fireplace and a green velvet sofa add joyful homely touches to the winter cottage ambience.

Celebrate the season with our Valrhona Festive Afternoon Tea, an exquisite offering that brings together the artistry of Valrhona chocolate and the elegance of afternoon tea. Presented with flair, this experience includes five distinct Valrhona chocolate flavours, each paired with delicate treats and festive beverages. The use of dry ice adds an enchanting visual and auditory element, making it a feast for all the senses.

A Michelin-starred Christmas Feast at Jing
On Christmas Eve, Jing, which earned one Michelin star for a third successive year, will present an exclusive five-course and six-course French menu and six-course fixed Basque journey menu. Chef de Cuisine William Mahi invites guests to enjoy an exquisite dining experience paired with chilled Champagne in a beautiful secret garden setting.
