The Peninsula Beijing presents a new exhibition themed 「The Path of Love and Hope」, from 19th December 2024 to 28th February 2025, by Japanese artist Ryunosuke Okazaki and curators Kiyomi Soga and Yao Wei exploring the power of life through a narrative woven by three primary colours: the red of love, the white of hope, and the black of silence. Guests are invited to experience this fantastical journey and feel the emotions and symbols embodied in each colour.

Ryunosuke’s works are inspired by the deep connection between humans and nature that has existed since ancient times. His work encompasses a variety of styles, including wearable dress, standalone sculptures, and large-scale spatial installations. Ryunosuke Okazaki creates works centred on themes of reverence for nature and prayers for life. His creations revive reverence for nature and prayers for life in a modern context. Without relying on blueprints, he lets his hands and dialogue with materials guide the creation of unique forms. This organic process, reminiscent of cell division and growth, evokes the mystery and vitality of life in humans and nature alike. This exhibition will feature works from Ryunosuke’s iconic “JOMON JOMON” series and works from his dress series “Nature’s Contours.” Through these narratives, viewers will encounter the harmony of nature and life, as well as universal emotions and forms of prayer.

To launch this immersive new exhibition, The Peninsula Beijing Art Gallery, on the third floor of the hotel, hosted 「The Path of Love and Hope」opening on 19th December. Guests can join with the artist, specially-invited art collectors, curators, and members of the arts and culture media, for an exclusive preview and tour. The artist will discuss the fascinating stories behind each exhibit in the collection. They will also share their views on contemporary art, culture and lifestyle trends, and the emerging influences on design and urban living from across China and around the world.
