The Peninsula Spa Partners with Voya Organic Beauty to Create Sustainable, Ocean-Inspired Spa Experiences

The Peninsula Hong Kong is delighted to introduce certified organic seaweed spa products by VOYA, an Irish skincare brand owned by the Walton family. This unique partnership brings the 300-year-old seaweed bath ritual from County Sligo in Ireland to the tranquil setting of The Peninsula Spa, overlooking Victoria Harbour.

As one of the first companies to produce certified organic seaweed skincare, VOYA developed a product range that upholds the ethos of sustainability and certified organic standards. VOYA skincare products perfectly complement The Peninsula Spa’s luxurious treatment rituals, by providing tangible results, inspiring the wellbeing of guests and raising environmental awareness.

VOYA Means Voyage - from the Irish Shore to a City Oasis 
Seaweed bathing is a three-century-old indigenous therapeutic ritual originating from Ireland. The first formal seaweed baths opened in Strandhill, County Sligo, in 1912, and these proved the inspiration for Mark and Kira Walton, the husband-and-wife team that co-founded VOYA. Captivated by the anti-ageing and antioxidant properties of seaweed – especially the Laminaria Digitata and Fucus Serratus varieties, which naturally cleanse and purify the skin – the Waltons opened their first seaweed bath in 2006.  

VOYA seaweed treatments help to improve the suppleness and elasticity of the complexion, while reducing the visible signs of ageing by toning, smoothing, moisturising and stimulating the skin cells. A Holistic Gem from the Ocean
The core ingredient of all VOYA products is extract of wild seaweed, which is sustainably harvested from the pristine waters off the West Coast of Ireland. Seaweed naturally absorbs nutrients from the sea, and contains a bounty of minerals, vitamins and beneficial ingredients in high concentrations, which work to reduce the signs of ageing by toning, smoothing, moisturising and stimulating skin cells. 

From sea to skin, VOYA goes to great lengths to maintain the unique purity of its seaweed. The Walton family continually develops new skin and body care lines, evolving into a collection that today includes over 50 products, from advanced organic facial treatments for specific skin concerns to home fragrances.

All VOYA products are packaged using recycled, recyclable or biodegradable materials, and the chips contained within all VOYA product packaging are 100% biodegradable and dissolve in water.

New outer packaging is made from dried seaweed and vegetable inks which are ground into powder form and mixed with paper, ensuring its entire range of products is clean and green from the inside out.
