This March, The Peninsula Spa will introduce a series of exclusive new spa packages for its guests, based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at The Peninsula Hong Kong.
The new offerings, collectively called “Han Therapy”, will allow spa guests to pursue optimal wellness through ancient holistic practices. The treatments, which seek to harmonise each guest’s body, mind, and spirit, are also meant to bring them into balance with the changing seasons – and will debut at the spa with a pair of packages specially created for the arrival of spring.
A Centuries-Old Wellness Paradigm
For thousands of years, TCM has helped recipients achieve health and alignment through therapies that balance the flow of qi (life energy) in the body. These therapies also reflect the essential elements of fire, water, wood, metal, and earth, to bring each person into equilibrium with the natural world. As the seasons change, so do the TCM treatments that facilitate this balance.
In keeping with these principles, The Peninsula Spa’s new springtime “Han Therapy” offerings will let guests fully welcome and harmonise with the season of renewal. The two packages combine both TCM practices and more modern spa rituals for complete whole-self rejuvenation.
Springtime Han Therapy Packages
As winter’s cold gradually disappears, and plants begin to send out new leaves and flowers, TCM practices focus on the revival of Yang energy in the body and the nourishment of the liver. At The Peninsula Spa, these processes are embraced with two new Han Therapy packages, the Spring Cleanse and the Yang Energy Boost.
Both packages begin with a consultation where our expert therapist assesses the guest's Yuan points. Guests can select three bottles from a customised combination of Five Element oils by Yangsen Biotechnology from Taiwan, Asia’s leading TCM Aromatherapy Research Centre. Based on the guest's specific requirements, the therapist will recommend a suitable treatment.
Once the guest confirms the treatment, the therapist will proceed with a 10-minute “Human Reset” acupressure session. This session involves pressing the five primary acupressure points, which are the crucial meridians controlling the circulation and qi within the body. Guests will continue with either of the two “Han Therapy” packages:
Spring Cleanse
This 100-minute balancing ritual consists of a 10-minute “Human Reset”, with a 60-minute Meridian Massage which releases muscle tension and boosts energy flow throughout the body, followed by a 30-minute Signature Scalp Massage, which promotes deep inner calm and improved cognitive function.
Available from now until 4 May 2024, the “Spring Cleanse” spa package is priced at HK$ 2,480* (Mondays to Thursdays) and HK$ 2,580* (Fridays to Sundays and Public Holidays) per person.
Yang Energy Boost
This 120-minute revitalising package also includes a 10-minute “Human Reset”, continues with a 60-minute Meridian Massage and a 20-minute Meridian Gua Sha treatment – in which a smooth-edged Gua Sha board is used to gently press and stroke the skin along the body meridians to awaken energy flow. Completing the package is a 30-minute Bojin Facial, in which another smooth-edged jade tool is used to press along the meridians of the face and scalp for complete invigoration.
Available from now until 4 May 2024, the “Yang Energy Boost” spa package is priced at HK$ 2,680* (Mondays to Thursdays) and HK$ 2,780* (Fridays to Sundays and Public Holidays) per person.
Each treatment concludes with a Lify Wellness energy tea and a Baked Sago Pudding with Chestnut Paste from The Peninsula Hong Kong’s Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant, Spring Moon.
The spring Han Therapy treatments are available from now until 4 May 2024, after which new treatments will be introduced in accordance with the lunar calendar. Subsequent treatments will include body scrubs and wraps, hot jade stone massages, and moxibustion, depending on the season. Guests can take advantage of a special offer to receive one complimentary package when purchasing four treatments or enjoy a generous 30% off when purchasing twelve packages at once. Pamper yourself or treat your loved ones to the ultimate spa experience with our enticing offer.
