Steeped in British tradition, guests can enjoy sandwiches, teacakes and English muffins or scones served on a handmade silver platter. As an all-day dining venue, The Lobby also serves à la carte breakfast plus an eclectic selection of global and Asian favourite dishes.

The restyled Lobby at The Peninsula Beijing presents an impressive setting celebrating Chinese culture through the integration of art and design into the monumental space. Embellishing the palatial grandeur of The Lobby is a pair of specially commissioned abstract ink paintings measuring five-metre-high by Xinjiang-born painter Qin Feng depicting the sun and the moon – simultaneously referencing Beijing’s iconic Temples of the Sun and Moon – on a deep cobalt background, which symbolises peace and spirituality in Chinese culture. Qin Feng, is considered a leading light of China’s contemporary avant-garde art movement, and the paintings are among the largest pieces he has been commissioned to create.
