Ladawan

Ladawan Piirainen
Chief Concierge
Growing up on a military compound, Ladawan learned discipline from her army mother, and nourished her creativity with her photographer father. Together they would snap photos, develop film and look over their work. “Every picture tells a story,” her father would say. These experiences gave Ladawan a formidable inner strength, a gift for expression and an original point-of-view. As she grew, her curiosity took flight. Painting, music, and writing became her outlet as her love of expression grew.
Today, Ladawan's story is written on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, where the heart of Bangkok beats. She weaves stories from the fabric of her riverbank community. For her, it’s a place where time stands still. The age-old shops and charming restaurants guard secrets of eras past. She feeds her adventurous side by exploring the hidden temples and concealed treasures around the city’s canals, perched on the deck of a longtail boat with her camera and pocket book in hand.
In Ladawan's world, the river's rhythm and the people's stories converge. It’s this winding flow of life that has nurtured her love of the city, a love that guides her daily work.
Every guest departs The Peninsula Bangkok with memories painted in vibrant hues because, to her, each one is family - to whom she strives to give the same sense of home that she found throughout her life, by the river’s embrace.
