As a Page at The Peninsula Hong Kong for the past decade, Kam has welcomed thousands of international visitors to the hotel, and to his home city. Though he can neither hear nor speak, his warm smile and lively eyes have made a lasting impression on travellers from all over the world.
Kam was offered a singular opportunity to experience something he had never dreamed of: travel to the dozen locales The Peninsula calls home, and explore these enchanting destinations through his own senses.
Kam’s extraordinary adventure brought him to some of the globe’s most captivating cities, where he was able to take part in iconic, time-honoured traditions – from moving his body through the meditative, flowing motions of Tai Chi in Beijing to playing baseball in Chicago to touching the vibrations of traditional Thai Gong chimes in Bangkok.
Whether visiting the ravishing peak of Mt. Fuji in Japan, or magnificent monuments like the Eiffel Tower and Big Ben in Europe, what Kam found most meaningful about his trip was being embraced like family everywhere he travelled. His epic journey has allowed him to understand, in a new way, what it means to experience The Peninsula’s unforgettable hospitality.
